25 Knitted Infinity Scarves, Neck Warmers, Cowls, and Double-Warm Tube Scarves by Heather Walpole
Cowls, infinity scarves, long tube scarves, and neck warmers are fresh, modern takes on the scarf, and you’ll want to create them all from this fun and fashion-forward collection for circular needles. With circular needles you are always moving forward, with no need to flip from front to back—and no seams—so you’ll whip them up in no time! Everything from light, lacy cowls airy enough to be worn in summer to big and chunky cables and bobbles. Intriguing entrelac and dazzling colorwork designs—including bold striping, geometric patterns, and Fair Isle. Wide range of patterns built on basic stitches and using widely available yarns, including popular self-striping yarn. Stitch and technique guide includes step-by-step photos.
Heather Walpole is the designer and founder behind Ewe Ewe Yarns, a boutique wholesale yarn company specializing in merino wool. Her patterns are featured on her company's website, www.eweewe.com, and appeared in the One + One book series with Iris Schrier, as well as in Knit Simple, Love of Knitting, and Creative Knitting magazines. Heather earned a degree in graphic design from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science and worked as a designer for IKEA before relocating to Oceanside, California, and taking up knitting.
I couldn't wait to get this book. As a new knitter and having just learnt to knit in the round it really excited me. I wasn't disappointed. This book has an amazing group of Twenty Five patterns.
It includes infinity scarves, neck warmers, cowls, and double-warm tube scarves. The use of different materials, colours and weights of yarn bring you a diversity of patterns that you are sure
to find something that everyone likes. With the temperature getting colder it's an ideal time to purchase this book and make something to keep you warm. It's also brilliant for things to make for
Christmas for your family and friends. The book is split into sections. The first one being basic and beautiful. This section uses basic stitches to create some amazing designs. This means that even a knew knitter can have a go on some of the patterns. The other sections are; Lovely Lace, Cables, Twists & Bobbles, Cozy Colourwork, How to Use This Book, Techniques & Stitches.
I cannot stress enough that this book is really for every level of knitter. Beginners are covered with the 1st sections and all the instructional guides. Then the designs move on and will keep
any level of knitter interested. The designs amaze me how they all look so different. I don't think there is one project that is similar to another. They all have their own personality.
I really do love this book. It's one I'll be using time and again. The only big decision is which one to make first.
